I literally jumped for joy when Susan and Dustin agreed to the idea of doing their engagement photos in Louisville. Those of you who know me know that I love photographing people around the world. I’ve photographed people in China, Southern Africa, Iceland, Puerto Rico, and many more places throughout the US and the world. So, the thought of doing some Louisville engagement photos with Susan and Dustin was a no brainer!

Planning Susan and Dustin’s Louisville engagement photos was a blast. Using Facebook, Google Images, and a few photo apps, I put together a list of options for them to choose from. We ultimately settled on Central Park, some murals downtown, and the beautiful Falls of the Ohio Park.

Here are a few of my favorites from their Louisville engagement session, as well as a bit of their love story sprinkled in. 🙂

Susan and Dustin met in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, where Dustin was visiting for a charity event. Dustin and a friend decided to go to a steakhouse for dinner, and luckily, Susan was working at that very steakhouse that night.

They got to talking while Dustin was enjoying dinner, and immediately an interest was sparked. Being the badass lady she is, Susan slipped him her number before he left the restaurant.

Dustin wasted no time and sent her a text later that evening asking her to hang out. Susan was slightly suspicious of his intentions, so she politely said no. Much to her surprise, they spent the next week texting and talking non-stop.

Being the romantic he is, Dustin returned to Kentucky the following weekend (which is a 6-hour drive from his former home of Canton, Ohio, btw). Susan and Dustin spent the weekend getting to know each other and, in Susan’s words, Dustin “literally never left.” He found a new job in the Louisville area and started a new life with Susan in Kentucky.

If that isn’t a sweet love story, I seriously don’t know what is!

Susan and Dustin, I can’t wait to celebrate with and photograph you next year at your wedding! I’m counting down the days already!
