Laura and Shawn‘s Wren Farm wedding was basically perfection. Beautiful couple, beautiful setting, and a beautiful golden hour ceremony. PERFECTION, I TELL YA.
We started at Laura and Shawn’s apartment, where Laura was getting ready with her gals. I love when people get ready at home because it’s so fun to incorporate personal elements into their photos. I mean, Laura is a (wonderful, incredible, badass) baker, so of course I had to use her cookie cutters to photograph her earrings. And, how could I NOT use that fabulous wall collection for those shoes? (And, yes, I love ice cream more than anything, too.)
We then went to Wren Farm, where we spent the rest of the day. The classic farmhouse was the perfect setting for Laura’s dress, some champagne popping, and some girly photos.
We then hung out with the guys. There was some tree-swinging, shot taking, and GQ styling.
Laura and Shawn exchanged their vows in front of a golden soybean field dowsed by the glowing sun of golden hour. Golden hour is the time when the sun is low and warm, and is a photographer’s favorite time of day. I’m sure you can see why with these gorgeous photos.
Because I’m obsessed with golden hour, I dragged Laura, Shawn, and their bridal party around the farm for what seemed like forever enjoying that beautiful light.
Laura and Shawn’s reception was held inside the gorgeous 2-story barn at Wren Farm. The owners have turned this barn into a photographer’s dream. It’s full of twinkle lights, warm tones, and gorgeous architectural elements.
And, those details?! *swoon* And that cookie table?! *mouth watering*
It also is the PERFECT place to party!
Laura and Shawn – you two are basically the coolest and your wedding was basically the coolest. Much love to you both!!
