2020 has been the year of the intimate, backyard wedding and I’m here for it. I’m pretty sure I’ve told Antonio 8,189,477 times that if I could shoot only backyard weddings for the rest of my life, I’d be happy. And if they all were as beautiful as Kayla and Britt’s, I’d be ecstatic.
With only 15 minutes, gorgeous golden hour light, and a beautiful location, we created some photo magic for Kayla & Britt. We talked and laughed and shared our love for beer, softball, DIY home projects, social justice, dogs, food, the list goes on. They cuddled and loved and tickled each other. And I, of course, obsessed over every second of it.
Sometimes, as photographers, we realize that we’re more than just photographers, our photos are more than just captured memories. Sometimes we provide people with the opportunity to develop courage, overcome fears and self-doubt, and showcase their true, authentic selves. I’m so happy to be even a small part of someone’s journey of self-discovery and am so thankful to have been a part of this for Carla and Jhoni.
Introducing Loren and Aeden… These two have that special kind of love that is so infectious. Watching them together was like watching your favorite romantic movie. Hands held tightly. Sweet forehead kisses. Passionate hugs. Gentle pets. Soft smiles and hard laughs. It’s that kind of love that is so pure, kind, and true. The kind that everyone wishes they had.
