Alex and Kelsey’s wedding at The Inn at Honey Run was what dreams are made of. From fairytale-esque walks through the woods to dancing in a forest beneath the stars, the whole thing was pure magic. Also, these two are who I want to be when I grow up. I mean, they had a flower girl who can rage better than most grown adults, they have sweet tattoos and piercings, they attend music festivals on the reg, and they’re just sweet as hell. They’re definitely the perfect people for me.
The Wedding
I couldn’t have imagined a better wedding for these two music-loving, adventure-seeking, barefoot-frolicking lovebirds. The Inn at Honey Run was the perfect venue for them, allowing them a beautiful place in the middle of the woods to get ready, exchange their vows, party, dance, and drink the night away.
The beginning of the day was spent photographing Kelsey, her details, and her bridesmaids (and bridesman!) in the woods surrounding the lodge. Talk about a perfect location! Pine trees, walking trails, beautiful balconies, and some gorgeous sun!
We then made our way over to the ceremony area, where we met up with Alex and his guys. The woods surrounding the ceremony “tree house” as I shall call it, were the perfect backdrop for Alex’s photos.
The ceremony space itself was incredible. I’ll describe it as a tree house on stilts completely surrounded by trees. Kelsey & Alex made it their own with a gorgeous dream catcher backdrop that fluttered beautifully in the light breeze. That combined with the tree planting ceremony were again the perfect representation of Alex & Kelsey.
Also, Alex’s face when he saw Kelsey for the first time?! Absolutely priceless.
After the ceremony, we headed into the woods with the bridal party where we captured them drinking, laughing, and looking like total badasses. Easy enough.
Then, we jumped on the golf cart and took a ride into the fairytale forest. We stumbled across this wicked art scene, which was obviously the perfect place for some photos.
Before heading back to the party, we had to give Kelsey & Alex a bit of alone time. Also, I just wanted them to look like glistening royalty walking through this beautiful sun-speckled forest.
Finally, it was time to get the party started. Situated in a clearing in the middle of the forest, we had the perfect setting sun and twinkling stars. These two had the epitome of a perfect reception, full of hilarious speeches, unexpected musical performances from guests, an adult coloring book lounge area, epic cake smashes, and a full out electronic dance festival.
Kelsey & Alex, you two are awesome and I have so much love for you. I wish you a lifetime full of epic adventures, loud music, and sweet dance moves!
