Susan & Dustin | Married

Susan and Dustin’s wedding at La Navona was so beautiful and included so many personal touches. One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is watching a space transform into a client’s dream wedding, and that’s what happened here. From the decor and flowers to the uplighting to the ceremony location, every aspect of the day was just gorgeous. And, exactly what I would picture for Susan and Dustin!

We began the day at a local hotel, where the gorgeous landscaping made it look like Susan and Dustin were getting married in the tropics!

After Susan’s mom and maid of honor helped her get ready, we made our way to La Navona. Before the ceremony, we made time for photos of Susan and her bridesmaids and Dustin and his groomspeople.

I must say, I’ve noticed a trend this year of mixed-gendered bridespeople and groomspeople and I’m here for it.

Finally, FINALLY, it was ceremony time. The time for Susan and Dustin to see each other for the first time. And, yes, I got proof of a teary eyed Dustin! The ceremony was beautiful. The beautifully landscaped courtyard is such a perfect location for ceremonies. The sky was a beautiful bold blue color. And, they incorporated some unique Egyptian wedding elements like a blanket wrapping and a necklace exchange ceremony. Such a cool way to honor the traditions of their close friend and officiant.

After the ceremony, we finished up the formal photos around La Navona. I love that they have so many great photo locations on their grounds!

We also made sure to sneak away for some photos of their decor. I love the personal touches they included. And, I LOVE the uplighting! It’s like magic!

Finally, it was time to party! Formal dances, cake cutting, speeches, dollar dances, anniversary dances, and epic dance moves abounded. It was perfect.

And, of course we had to take advantage of those lights that are strung over the courtyard. I love when clients sneak away from the party for a few minutes so that I can create some gorgeous night photos for them!
