Six weeks ago, I was in Puerto Rico for my first ever Feminist Photo Vaycay. Writing this, it seems like it was years ago, yet days ago at the same time. It’s strange what the COVID quarantine does to the sense of time. Days seem to fly by, yet drag on. There’s no differentiation between days of the week, weeks of the month. Is it Monday? Is it Saturday? Is it April? Who knows…
But what I do know is that photographing these two was a dream.
Introducing Loren and Aeden…
These two have that special kind of love that is so infectious. Watching them together was like watching your favorite romantic movie. Hands held tightly. Sweet forehead kisses. Passionate hugs. Gentle pets. Soft smiles and hard laughs. It’s that kind of love that is so pure, kind, and true. The kind that everyone wishes they had.
When they offered themselves up as models for some Puerto Rico photos, I immediately jumped on the opportunity. I knew documenting them would give me the opportunity to do what I love so much – capture real, raw, natural love.
And when they mentioned pool photos, it was obviously a big HELL YES from me!
Loren and Aeden: thank you both so much for sharing your love with me. For being vulnerable for me. For getting a little weird with me. I’m so lucky to have met you, to have photographed you, and to have spent even just a few days with you!
Here are a few of my favs of their Feminist Photo Vaycay/Pool Pary/Puerto Rico photos…
