Meghan & Dave’s Lake Erie Building wedding in Cleveland, Ohio was one that every wedding photographer is dreaming about in 2016. The location, the decor, the style, and the couple are all in trend right now and I’m so lucky to have been there to photograph it all. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful couple and I basically want to relive it every weekend for the rest of forever.
How They Met
Well, here’s a story you don’t hear too often. Meghan and Dave were both at a Cleveland Indians game with their friends when Meghan and her friends were selected to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” on the Jumbotron. Thoroughly impressed by Meghan’s antics and singing skills, Dave decided he wanted to meet her. Later that night, as fate would have it, they both happened to be at the same bar. Dave’s first words to Meghan were “Great job!” and the rest is history.
The Proposal
Here’s another good story for you. The two were enjoying a romantic getaway in Napa Valley, California when Dave insisted they go for a hike. Once they reached the summit and were standing in a clearing overlooking the valley, Dave popped the question. According to Meghan, she actually saw “the bulge” in his pocket during the hike, but I’m still giving mad props (who says that?!) to Dave for such an epic proposal.
The Lake Erie Building Wedding
Meghan & Dave chose this venue because of the similarities it bears to the city they currently call home – New York City. This building, which was once a manufacturing plant for Templar cars, has been converted into an event space and artist lofts. Fortunately, during the conversion, the designers kept much of the original space, giving it its current industrial, grimy, gorgeous charm. From the original concrete floors to the frosted glass windows to the white washed brick walls, this warehouse was simply an urban photographers dream. By adding in golden chandeliers, beautiful decor, and twinkle lights for days, the designers gave this industrial space the right amount of beautification.
Meghan & Dave made their Lake Erie Building wedding their own by incorporating gorgeous greenery, food stations, an intimate ceremony, a raging dance party, and THEIR PUP (always my fav) and it was perfect in every way.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day…
