There are weddings. There are great weddings (of which I have had manyyyy). And then, there are GREAT AMAZING INCREDIBLE AWESOME PERFECT weddings. Krystina and Casey’s wedding in Tacoma, Washington was just that.
First, let’s talk about Krystina and Casey. Krystina, oh my sweet Krystina. This woman was my very first employee back when Erica Kay Photography was a baby business. She was a young college student, figuring out who she was and what she wanted in life. I was a young entrepreneur, figuring out…everything. She was my right hand woman in all things business. She kept up with my emails, client contracts, invoicing, gifting, and more. She whipped my office into shape, sprinkling her organizational magic onto everything I owned. She was the backbone of my business and was truly one of the main reasons I was able to scale as quickly as I did. I’m so thankful for everything she’s ever done for me and EKP. Also, she’s super sweet and quirky and lovely.
Soooooo…when someone likes that texts you and asks you to fly to the literal opposite side of the country to photograph her wedding, YOU SAY YES. No questions asked.
Anyway, back to Krystina and Casey. They are absolutely perfect for each other. The same interests, same sense of humor, same kind hearts, even the same adorable giggles. The love they share is so obvious and joyful and infectious. So infectious that I cried multiple times throughout the wedding day (literal sobs during the ceremony) and even while editing their photos. So much joy radiating from them and so much joy in my heart witnessing the grown up version of my sweet assistant be so completely happy and in love. *cue the tears again while writing this*
Ok ok, enough of the sappiness. Let’s talk about this wedding. Their ceremony was at the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory in Tacoma. It’s the most beautiful space for an intimate wedding and was the perfect place for them, considering Krystina’s love of nature. Being completely surrounded by the lush gardens made their ceremony feel so cozy and organic. And, let’s not even get into their incredible vows read while pinky promising and their epic secret handshake leading up to their first kiss. Oh, and then the sweetest first dance in the middle of the conservatory encircled by their best friends and immediate family. *swoon*
After that perfect ceremony, we finished up the celebration at Narrows Brewing, overlooking Puget Sound. Beers, pizza, incredible views, a gorgeous sunset, and even A BABY SEAL. It was literal perfection.
And then. AND THEN. The day after their wedding we went adventuring in Mt. Rainier National Park. Talk about epic. From the snowcapped peaks of Mt. Rainier, to massive waterfalls, to glacial lakes, alpine forests, meadows, a Bambi friend, and lots of laughs, it was the most magical day.
