One of my goals during every engagement session is to document moments, locations, and memories that are truly representative of a couple. When I get the opportunity to shoot an engagement session at a truly meaningful location, I jump at the chance, even if it means driving two hours one way This engagement session was no exception. When Jessica mentioned that sheād like to do the session on her family farm, the place where she grew up and her parents grew up and her parentsā parents grew up, I obviously said HECK YES!
Soā¦.fast forward to a beautiful late summer Sunday afternoon. Windows down, radio up, sun beating down, zipping through the hilly roads of southeastern Ohio. It was the perfect opportunity for me to decompress and relax after a full-day wedding the day before. I even stopped for a chocolate milkshake along the way to make those two hours even more awesome After meeting up with Jessica and Scott at our designated meeting spot, I followed them to their family farm to begin the session. I had envisioned this farm as super cool, but what greeted me was, like, REALLLLY SUPER COOL. Old barns, sheep running around, endless cornfields, vintage cars, sweeping hills, gigantic loner trees, a pumpkin patch, kittens everywhere, an old covered bridge that just so happens to be the town āphoto spotā (we even found āHappily Ever Afterā confetti, seemingly left over from a wedding the previous day). It was PERFECT. And, it was special to them, which made the session that much better.
I left Jessica and Scottās farm with a cool (some might even call it ugly) pumpkin (it was like the Charlie Brown treeā¦I had to take it because no one else would), another chocolate milkshake (donāt judge), and a smiling heart. If I could shoot in meaningful places like this all day, everyday, Iād be a happy girl
Thanks for opening up your home to me, Jessica! I had a blast!
