Meredith and Michael’s Indiana University engagement photos are so special to me because it was my first time visiting that beautiful campus, let alone shooting there!  The Indiana University campus, located in Bloomington, Indiana, is ranked in the top five most beautiful college campuses in the country, and I now completely understand why!  This campus is full of gorgeous, historic architecture, beautiful trees and landscaping, and paths and bridges that wind through wooded areas and creeks.

We strategically planned their session to take place in the fall, allowing us to take advantage of not only a beautiful campus, but beautiful fall leaves, as well.  All of the beauty of Indiana University in the fall combined with the beautiful golden hour light allowed us to create some seriously stunning photos.

I love shooting in new places.  It breaks the monotony of shooting in Columbus, inspiring me to photograph differently.  That’s why I was so excited when Meredith and Michael asked about doing their engagement photos there.  The thought of shooting somewhere completely new is so refreshing and exciting.  When given the opportunity to explore new areas and plan shoots in unfamiliar locations, I’ll almost never say no!

Their Story

Meredith and Michael met at Indiana University, where they both completed their undergraduate degrees.  Meredith attended a fraternity party hosted by Michael’s fraternity, and as fate would have it, they bumped into each other at the bar.  They chatted (*cough* flirted *cough*) for a bit before Michael had to return to his position as beer pong champion.  Later that night, Michael walked Meredith home.  They exchanged numbers on her doorstep and have been inseparable since.

Meredith and Michael spent 3 years in a long distance relationship (after graduation, Michael moved back to Chicago for a job while Meredith continued her education in Nebraska).  Now, they’re happily together again in Columbus, where they’re busy planning their wedding, drinking with friends, running marathons, and enjoying quality time in their pjs.  Sounds like the perfect life, right?!

Oh, and no engagement session is complete without a toast at your favorite bar.  And, no, that isn’t water in Meredith’s glass.  That’s just a water long island.  No big deal.
