Kelsey + Dave’s Hocking Hills engagement photos are some of my most recent favorites!  If you know me, you know I love travel, adventure, and hiking, and I absolutely love Hocking Hills.  I think it’s one of the best places in Ohio and I always love an “excuse” to go down there for a hike.  However, I hadn’t ever done Hocking Hills engagement photos before this shoot, so I was super excited when these two (and their pups) agreed with my idea of doing their photos there.  We mixed my love for adventure with our love for hiking and their love for being classy and created some photos that I’m sure we’ll all love.

While it was a bit warm for October (the next day had record breaking heat!) and the leaves weren’t yet at their peak fall color, we had a blast hiking through some of the caves and chasing down the light of the setting sun.  We found a golden yellow tree that was perfectly backlit, explored Old Man’s Cave, climbed into areas we weren’t supposed to, walked through creeks while trying to prevent the dogs from going for a swim, avoided strangers while changing clothes in the middle of the forest (not me, just them), and popped bottles of champagne.  All of this was done while carrying a bag full of gear, a folding chair, and 67% of Kelsey + Dave’s closet.  Thank goodness for Kelsey’s best friend/maid of honor/dog wrangler who give up her Sunday for her bestie!  And my fiance/assistant/pack mule who did the same for me 🙂

Kelsey & Dave – I can’t wait to laugh, plan, and shoot with you both over the next 11 months.  And, I can’t wait to celebrate my birthday with you on your wedding day!  We’ll have to do another champagne photo together in celebration (and because you know you want that on the front page of your album) 😉
