Their Story

Marisa & Ben are college sweethearts.  They were first introduced by mutual friends at Wittenberg University (Tiger up!) and almost immediately hit it off.  They’ve spent most of their relationship away from each other, as the first six years of their relationship was long distance.  They finally started a new life together in April, when they moved in together in Columbus.

The Proposal

They were on vacation in Siesta Key with Ben’s family when they decided to watch the sunset over the water before dinner.  After the sunset, Ben asked Marisa, “Are you ready?”  Marisa replied like any good woman would:  “Yes, I’m hungry!”  Little did she know that Ben wasn’t talking about dinner.  He then got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked the REAL question.  As soon as Marisa realized what he was doing, she said yes!

Their Franklinton Engagement Photos

When asked what they like to do together, the answer was DRINK!  J/k 😉  But seriously, they said they like going to breweries in downtown Columbus.  It was only natural that we began the session at Strongwater with a drink, then continued around the area of Landgrant Brewing and 400 W. Rich.  This up and coming area is such a great spot for engagement photos, with the old architecture, graffiti, and gorgeous grunge.  I might now be a bit obsessed with photographing in that area, so don’t be surprised if you see some repeat Franklinton engagement photos 😉
