Oh, friends. I’ve waited SO LONG for this blog post and I’m so excited the time is finally here! Jesse and Faith are one of my Covid reschedule couples, so I’ve spent nearly two years anxiously awaiting their wedding at The Bluestone. And, let me tell you, it definitely lived up to the hype!
We started the day, as we normally do, by dividing and conquering. Antonio hung out with Jesse and his groomsmen while I was with Faith and her bridesmaids. But, this time we weren’t empty handed. As an homage to their engagement photos, which were taken on their originally scheduled wedding day and included an ironic toast with some icy cold Coronas, we brought them a 6-pack of Corona. Just our little way of remembering this crazy Coronavirus time and the fun we had together on their would-be wedding day.
We then spent the afternoon taking photos at North Bank Park and McPherson Park before heading to The Bluestone for the rest of the day. I love The Bluestone…it’s one of my favorite venues in the city. But, when I walked into the venue this time, it was like walking into a fairy tale. I couldn’t believe how Griffin’s Floral Design transformed the space. It was absolutely full of gorgeous, lush blooms, which made the venue look (and smell!) like heaven. I’ve shot A LOT of weddings, so it takes a lot for me to be impressed. But, I was definitely impressed.
And, it wasn’t just the gorgeous work of Griffin’s that impressed me! There was a killer dessert table. Seriously the thing that my sugar-loving dreams are made of. The ceremony was so sweet and funny and personal. Faith and Jesse had an AMAZING choreographed first dance, complete with a Dirty Dancing style lift. Their band, The Bluewater Kings, put on an amazing show and kept the dance floor packed all night long. And, not to mention, Faith and Jesse are just so wonderful and gracious and the perfect couple. It was just a dream.
Faith and Jesse, thank you so much for having us as your photographers! We went through a lot together over the past two years, but there’s no one we’d rather go through it with than amazing clients like you. We’re so honored to have been a part of this time in your lives and hope we can enjoy more Coronas together in the future. 🍻
