Headshots…..they’re not just for the CEO of the largest company in the city or the aspiring actor your daughter is drolling over.  Nor do they have to be as dull and boring as those ones you’ve all seen of the blue crinkly backdrop that was set up in your office hallway.  In reality, headshots are necessary for a variety of reasons and, when done correctly, can be tons of fun and can truly reflect who YOU are!

You’re probably wondering why in the world anyone would need a headshot.  Well, my good friend and fellow photographer, Sharon from Three Irish Girls Photography, has put together a pretty awesome list of reasons why YOU and everyone you know should want (and get) a good headshot!  Here are just a few of those reasons…

• To increase your professional credibility.  Statistically, people are much more likely to remember you if they’ve seen your picture.
• To look great on a dating website (I’ve actually done several headshots for this very reason!)
• To give to your spouse/significant other/parents/grandparents/children.
• Because you’re about to become a published author and need to look good on your book jacket or next to your newspaper column.
• To celebrate a milestone in your life.  Have you recently lost a lot of weight?  Gotten a promotion?  Turned a special age?  These are all FABULOUS reasons for a new headshot.
• Because you’re starting a new business (or already have) and need a professional image to impress your clients.
• Because you’re a blogger and need one of those cute, “Hi, I’m so and so” pictures so people will want to keep reading.
• To put on your website so that when people click the “About” button, there’s actually something there!
• Because YOU DESERVE IT.

So, are you ready to make some moves?  Here’s what to do…

1.  Shoot me an email letting me know that you’re in desperate need of an awesome new headshot (hello@ericakayphotography.com).

2.  We’ll set up a time to meet over coffee or tea to discuss your options and get to know each other so that we can plan the PERFECT session for you.

3.  On the day of your session, you’ll come to my downtown Columbus loft and have your makeup done by my professional makeup artist.  That is royal treatment, right there!  This is included in the headshot collection and is SO important for you to look and feel your best.  I mean, there’s a reason why all of those gorgeous celebrities are that gorgeous, right?!

4.  During your session, I’ll direct you and pose you so that, as Sharon says, you won’t look like a floppy jellyfish or a stiff toy soldier 😉

5.  After the session, I will carefully edit the images that present you in the most beautiful way.  I will then present them to you in a beautiful gallery, where you will choose your 5 favorite images.

6.  I will then send you the high-resolution images that you chose and a print release so that you can make prints if you’d like.

7.  Finally, you post your photos to your website/Facebook/dating site and feel like a star when the compliments start pouring in!!
