Kelly and Patrick’s Short North engagement photos are the perfect combination of Goodale Park greenery and Short North urbanery.  (I know that’s not a word…whatev.)  I loved hopping around town with them, stopping at random trees, bars, brick walls, murals, and anything else that screamed, “PHOTOGRAPH ME!”  And these two, let me tell you, know how to work a camera.  Kelly was all smiles and giggles, which is exactly what my camera loves.  Patrick’s contributions to Kelly’s giggles made for some great laughter on his part, as well.  Plus, they’re both total babes.  There’s really not much more I could have asked for.

Kelly and Patrick are both Ohio State grads, who oddly enough, met each other in Washington D.C.  I’ve photographed plenty of OSU grads in my day, but never any who met AFTER school in a city hundreds of miles away!  After meeting at a party for a mutual friend and then randomly running into each other around D.C., Patrick finally asked Kelly on a date…via Gchat.  If that isn’t fate, I don’t know what is.

After dating for awhile, Kelly and Patrick planned a “Getaway from D.C.” weekend with friends in Virginia.  While on a hike in the snowy Virginia mountains, Patrick stopped, got down on one knee, and prepared to profess his undying love to Kelly.  Kelly’s reaction?  “What are you doing?” followed by the Heisman stance.  Fortunately, this didn’t stop Patrick from telling Kelly how much he loves her and asking her to marry him.  Although she didn’t immediately say yes, Patrick assumed she meant yes since she immediately picked him up off the ground and started kissing him.  (Don’t worry…she eventually said yes.)
