As I reflected on my 2024 wedding season, I realized that Gwynne and Melissa’s wedding, our last wedding of 2024, was a culmination of all the things I loved about our 2024 wedding season. It was intimate – no bridal party, Melissa and Gwynne got ready together in the morning, only their favorite people were in attendance. It was sweet – romantic gestures, meaningful vows and speeches, lots of love and tears. It was funny – so many laughs, especially during those aforementioned vows and speeches. It was diverse – they are loved by people of so many different ethnicities, ages, and sexualities. And it was surrounded by nature – a first look on a tree lined path, a ceremony under a canopy of trees overlooking forested rolling hills, a reception with trees literally growing through the dance floor.
Intimate, sweet, funny, diverse, surrounded by nature. These are the words that I could use to describe the overall vibe of my 2024 wedding season, and these are the words I hope to use to describe the rest of my wedding photography career. Basically, Gwynne and Melissa’s wedding was exactly what I want in my professional life and I’m so glad I got to close out 2024 with this one.
