Remember Katherine & Ross – my very first 2016 couple to have their engagement photos done?! It’s hard to believe that was well over a year ago, but I guess what they say is true – time flies when you’re having fun! Ross & Katherine’s The Grand Barn at The Mohicans wedding was the perfect example of fun. From the gorgeous couple to the fairytale location to the beautiful DIY details to the outrageous dance moves, this day was definitely perfect.

Their Story

Katherine & Ross are college sweethearts (he won her over with his guitar rendition of “Every Breath You Take”) who got engaged during the celebration of their 5 year anniversary. They described the proposal as “simple and personal,” which, to me, sounds perfect for them. During their anniversary celebration, Ross continuously attempted to get Katherine to take a walk with him on the OSU campus. Katherine continuously refused (apparently it was, like, zero degrees outside), so Ross turned their living room into “the spot.” He delivered a heartfelt speech and a beautiful ring, and she delivered a YES!

Their Wedding

Their Grand Barn at The Mohicans wedding was exactly what I pictured for them. They got ready in tree houses in the middle of the forest. The venue is a beautiful wooden building surrounded by trees. The ceremony and reception were held under strings of twinkle lights and the sounds of the cicadas’ songs. We tromped through the forest for photos with a beautiful golden hour sun. The decor was a beautiful mix of elegant and vintage, with greenery, wooden details, and glass jars containing beautiful flower arrangements. Katherine looked like a dream with her handmade floral crown and gorgeous gown.

All in all, it was a beautiful day for them to begin their life as Mr. and Mrs.
