Emily & Nick | Married

Meet Emily and Nick – two of the most genuine people I’ve ever met.  From their never-ending smiles to their constant giggles and their kind demeanors, these two are GEMS.  It’s definitely true what they say about southerners:  they are genuinely nice people!  I’m so honored they chose me to document their Cincinnati wedding!

Their “Meet Cute”

In what Emily describes as a “nerdy” encounter, she and Nick met at a Young Catholic Professionals Networking Event.  To clarify, it was actually held at a bar (typical Catholics!), so it wasn’t actually too nerdy.  Emily made the first move, saying hello first.  After chatting for awhile, they made an ice cream date, and the rest is history!

Their Engagement

Nick saved the engagement for Christmas (so sweet!), claiming he wanted to visit the country club where Emily’s family spent a lot of time.  Bundled up in the drizzling rain, they drove around the course on the golf cart.  Nick stopped the cart at the 14th hole where he proposed to Emily.  Emily’s first response?  “Yes.”  Emily’s second response?  “Does my dad know?”  (He did, of course!)

Their Cincinnati Wedding (ish)

Ok, so their wedding wasn’t actually in Cincinnati.  It was northern Kentucky, but whatevs.

Anyway, the entire day was just perfect.  We started at Emily’s parents’ house, which was the perfect location for details and candids while Emily and her girls got ready.

We then set off for Summit Hills Country Club, where Emily and Nick had their first look (on the 14th hole, of course!).  After the first look, we did a handful of bridal party photos and family photos before heading downtown for more group photos.

We made a pit stop at Smale Park in downtown Cincinnati for more fun photos along the Ohio River.  This park was the perfect place for photos with the Cincinnati skyline and the Roebling Bridge.

After a bit of sass and seriousness, we left for St. Mary’s Cathedral.  This cathedral was incredible!  It was a dream location for two Catholics to begin their lives as husband and wife.

We ended the day back at Summit, which was beautifully decorated by Emily’s mom and their wonderful coordinators.  As expected, the reception was full of laughs, love, and a whole lotta dancing.  It was definitely a night to remember!
