Ashlee and Henry are two of the most genuine people I’ve met. Their kindness is recognizable almost immediately, as is their true love for each other. I’m lucky to have traveled to China with Ashlee’s mom, whose kind, giving heart is just as beautiful as Ashlee’s. That’s why, when Ashlee’s mom was looking for a photographer for their Iowa State University wedding, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Their Iowa State University Wedding

I seriously had no idea how beautiful the campus of Iowa State is! Not only is it the most beautiful location for a wedding, it is the PERFECT location for Ashlee and Henry’s wedding because that’s where they met! It only made sense for them to return to their alma mater to exchange their vows.

We began the day at a nearby hotel, where Ashlee and her bridesmaids, mom, and grandma got ready. This is where Ashlee got dressed, where she exchanged gifts with her bridesmaids, where she helped her mom do her hair, and where she shared a sweet “first look” with her dad.

We then traveled to campus, where we spent the afternoon taking photos of Ashlee, Henry, their adorable pup, and their kickass bridal party.

They had their evening ceremony on the lawn of the Iowa State University campanile, surrounded by friends, family, and a beautiful view. Immediately after, they enjoyed the rest of the night in the Memorial Union ballroom, dancing, laughing, and getting rowdy. They even ended the night dancing on the stage in front of a crowd of cheering guests, but I’ll let them share those photos, if they so choose 😉
