Peter & Heidi | Engaged

Gahhhhhh!  Peter + Heidi’s engagement session at the Scioto Audubon Metro Park, the Scioto Mile, and the Columbus Commons can be described with 3 f-words…

FUN!

FABULOUS!

AND, FREEZING!

I have to give mad props to Peter and Heidi for braving this cold Columbus night in order to let me do something I’ve been dying to do for awhile now….a night photo shoot.  Sometimes, us photographers get a little stir crazy with all of the traditional sessions and weddings and we need something a bit different to get those creative juices flowing again.  After an extremely busy summer and fall full of 15 weddings and 17 engagement sessions, I was in desperate need of a photographic adventure.  Heidi, who most of you know as my trusty sidekick at weddings, understood my need to experiment and agreed to go along with my crazy idea of a winter nighttime engagement session.  And, damn, I’m so glad she did!  These are seriously some of my favorite photos to date.  The colors, the location, the light, the subjects were all perfection.  Thank you, Heidi and Peter, for being my brave test subjects!  I hope you can feel your fingers and toes again…and I REALLLLLLLLY hope you agree the pain was worth it!

Also, I have to give a huge, huge, HUUUUUUUGE shoutout to Ua Chamberlain from UA Creative Photography and Caitlin Elsass from Elle Randall Photography for their assistance with lighting and experimentation.  You two are lifesavers!
