I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so giggly and full of life as Gretchen.  She’s seriously the most happy and energizing person I’ve ever met, and this was definitely the case at her and Jake’s Amelita Mirolo Barn wedding.  From the moment I walked in the door, Gretchen was all smiles and giggles, which translates so perfectly in photos.  While retouching their wedding, I couldn’t help but smile the whole time.  That’s how infectious her energy is!!

Getting Ready

The girls chose to get ready at The Embassy Suites in Dublin, which is a beautiful place to get ready with lots of space and great photo opps for detail photos.  Using the lobby fountain, I was able to get gorgeous photos of Gretchen’s shoes and jewelry.  I used the gazebo in the lobby to create a beautiful scene for her dress shot.

Once it was time to put on her dress, Gretchen’s ladies gathered around her to assist with buttoning, clasping, tying, adjusting, and hilariously putting on her garter.

First Look & Photos at Homestead Park

After Gretchen was all dolled up, we headed to Homestead Park, a location that perfectly represents Gretchen & Jake’s love for natural settings.  Their first look was held under a tree beside the lake, which provided the perfect photos for such a special moment.

After they spent a few moments soaking in the beauty of the day, we began their formal photos surrounded by beautiful wildflowers (who knew Ohio actually has wildflower fields?!), apple trees, white picket fences, and covered bridges.  It was perfect.

Amelita Mirolo Barn Wedding & Reception

Amelita Mirolo Barn is such a beautiful little venue.  From the gorgeous raw wood interior adorned with twinkle lights to the outdoor greenery-lined patio overlooking a pond and fountain, the space is the perfect setting for intimate weddings.  Gretchen & Jake accented the space with a collection of mismatched antique plates and tea cups, Mason jars, and beautiful white florals.  After the ceremony, the night continued with plenty of laughter, dancing, photo-boothing, group singing, and all of the shenanigans one would expect from a wedding celebration.  As I said, it was the perfect wedding for this wonderful couple!
